Showing solidarity with the people of the state, all the IPS officers of Punjab have pledged to donate one day’s salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. DGP Gaurav Yadav said that this contribution is a humble effort to support the ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts.

Heavy rains and increased water level of Yamuna in districts like Yamunanagar and Ambala bordering Punjab have increased the concern. The water level of the Tangri river flowing through the district is increasing and may go above the danger mark by Wednesday afternoon. The administration has alerted the people of the colonies located around the river. Ambala has received 105.6 mm of rain within the last 24 hours.
Monsoon has become a big problem in the hilly states
Bhakra Nangal Dam is full in Himachal, Govind Sagar Lake is overflowing with water and is near the danger mark. Its 4 gates have been opened. Torrential rains have created an atmosphere of fear in Manali. At the same time, the red alert has made it more serious. Heavy rains and landslides have caused havoc in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir. There have been 91 flash floods, 45 cloudbursts and 95 major landslides in Himachal from June 20 to August 30.
