Why didn’t Team India boycott the T20 Asia Cup 2025 match against Pakistan? BCCI has given the reason for this. India vs Pakistan match in Asia Cup 2025 is to be played on 14 September. Who will be the umpires in India vs Pakistan match.
Why not boycott the India vs Pakistan match
Before the T20 Asia Cup 2025, a league of retired cricketers was held in England, in which Indian veterans refused to play against Pakistan. The reason behind this was that Pakistan-backed terrorists keep killing innocent people in India and spoil the atmosphere. Apart from this, voices were raised on social media, including some former cricketers, that the Indian cricket team should boycott the India vs Pakistan match in Asia Cup 2025. However, the Government of India and BCCI had denied such things and now BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia told why they did not boycott this match?

Saikia told why a complete boycott of Pakistan on the sports platform is not possible? He said that if we do this then we can be banned. Saikia said, “The central government has taken into account all aspects including the interests of the federations and the concerns of the players. In a multinational tournament, in which a team does not participate, it can be banned. In such a situation, emerging players and their careers can be ruined.” The T20 Asia Cup 2025 match between India and Pakistan will be held in Dubai on 14 September.

The government has some rules
In August, the central government amended its policy related to competition between Indian athletes and Pakistani athletes in sports events. As per the new guidelines, India will be allowed to participate in multinational events, but will continue to refrain from bilateral series with enemy countries.
It is mandatory to plan the government’s rule
Debabrata Saikia said, “As far as the BCCI’s approach is concerned, we have to follow everything that is formally decided by the central government. Recently, our policy regarding India’s participation in any multinational or international tournament clearly states that there is no restriction imposed by the central government on playing with countries that do not have friendly relations with India. So India will have to play all the matches in any multinational tournament.”
